Gareth Roberts, President & CEO
Denbury Resources, Inc.

Bio: Gareth Roberts has been President, Chief Executive Officer and a director since 1992. Mr. Roberts founded Denbury Management, Inc., the former primary operating subsidiary of the Company in April 1990. Mr. Roberts has more than 30 years of experience in the exploration and development of oil and natural gas properties with Texaco, Inc., Murphy Oil Corporation and Coho Resources, Inc. His expertise is particularly focused in the Gulf Coast region where he specializes in the acquisition and development of old fields with low productivity. Mr. Roberts holds honors and masters degrees from St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University, where he has been elected to an Honorary Fellowship. Mr. Roberts also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Genesis Energy, L.P., a public master limited partnership.

Summary: Gareth’s comments will highlight Denbury’s enhanced oil recovery program in Mississippi and the gulf region, and the future for using man-made sources of carbon dioxide for enhanced oil recovery. The presentation will also discuss the pipeline infrastructure necessary to accomplish this goal and what the benefits are to Mississippi and the nation.



John Atherton, Vice President of External Affairs
Mississippi Power

Bio: John Atherton, Mississippi Power’s Vice President of External Affairs, is responsible for Corporate Communications, State and Federal Legislative Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Governmental and Environment Relations, Economic Development, Community Affairs, General Services and Security. He began working for Mississippi Power Company in 1985 and has held various leadership positions. Atherton is a life-long resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and attended Gulfport High School. In 1982, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing. John is a graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast and Leadership Mississippi and has been involved in Executive Training Programs at Wharton and the Kellogg School.

Summary: Discuss Mississippi Power’s Generation Screening Study and the lignite-based Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) proposed plant in Kemper County, Mississippi.



Anthony Topazi, Momentum Mississippi Chairman
Momentum Mississippi

Bio: Anthony J. Topazi became Mississippi Power’s tenth President and Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2004. Topazi is chairman of the Mississippi Economic Council, the state’s chamber of commerce, and Momentum Mississippi, a public-private partnership appointed by the Governor to enhance the state’s economic development future. Topazi is a member of the DeToqueville Society of United Way of America and serves on the board of directors for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.  He also serves on the board of directors for Hancock Bank, INFINITY Science Center, Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce and the advisory board of the Knight Foundation.  Topazi serves on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta - New Orleans Branch.  He is also chairman of the Gulf Coast Business Council and the Gulf Coast Renaissance Corporation.

Summary: Anthony Topazi’s talk will cover the state of the energy sector and focus on how these issues are affecting Mississippi and the country. Specifically, attention will be on energy as it relates to economic development and the viability of creating a cohesive policy approach from the state level.
